Help a Police Family in Crisis
This is a call for backup! Please help a police family whose 12-year-old daughter, Isla, is currently in the fight of her life.
Lieutenant Steve Griffith, who has served with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department for nearly two decades, has reached out to our police community in a time of crisis. After exhausting treatment options for Isla’s life-threatening illness in their home state, the family turned to a highly regarded program at Rady Children’s Hospital.
As of yesterday, Isla’s heart rate finally stabilized. She was released from Rady’s and will begin approximately three months of outpatient treatment. For the program to be successful, her mother, Emily, must be present and involved in the treatment. Lt. Griffith has returned to Indianapolis to continue working and supporting the family financially. Sadly, they have depleted their savings in their efforts to save their daughter’s life.

Through our police community, the Griffith family was able to secure lodging, but they need financial assistance with living costs, including rent, food, and household supplies. They are also in need of funding for transportation—or a car to get Isla to and from her outpatient treatment.
