We Got the Grant!
We recently received a $20,000 grant from our partner St. Germaine Children’s Charity to fund our SafetyNet: Smart Cyber Choices® program.
SafetyNet® is a preventative and proactive public safety program, as well as a community awareness effort, working to break the cycle of abuse and victimization of children.
A collaborative public safety initiative of the San Diego Police Foundation and the San Diego Internet Crimes Against Children (SD-ICAC) Task Force, SafetyNet® equips students of all ages and the adults who support them to identify, avoid, and report online threats.
This program is unique because it focuses on prevention—stopping the crime before a child is harmed. This education is especially vital in underserved communities, where access to digital literacy tools, parental supervision time, and internet security resources is limited. SafetyNet® provides an opportunity to reach those at highest risk before exploitation occurs.
Thank you, St. Germaine Children’s Charity, for helping us protect the vulnerable and prevent the victimization of children throughout San Diego County!
